I don't pay for them until afterward when I know I really enjoy them. As for reading, if it is a book with a lower stature, I don't really care enough to keep reading them. If it is one of a higher stature, like, oh, I don't know, totally random example, Superman, first off he is my favorite character so I like to remain informed about what is going on with him because I am invested in him as a character, however, all this shit that Bendis is doing won't get a cent out of me. Even in the case of Superman, there have been issues where I'm really just perusing them and inferring what is going on from the art, and only getting into dialogue when it seems necessary to. That might be a critique of my consumption of it, but honestly, most of the issues I have read didn't present enough information via text bubbles to leave me feeling I was missing anything within the story except heartburn over what was being done within the narrative.
