Same reason Tron is dead again. If it doesn't immediately sell gangbusters and destroy sales records, Disney does not care at all about nurturing new/old/obscure IPs and making them popular, because it doesn't immediately rake in money.

Epic Mickey aside, the only reason Bob Iger even bothered to get Oswald back was to curry favor with Diane Disney and Roy and project an image of "I really do care about this company's history" towards the die-hards and legitimize his reign early on.

Princess and the Frog being a 2D revival was pretty much the same thing. Once Roy and Diane kicked the bucket, he dropped the facade.

Maybe it has to do with that modern Oswald is still more classic-styled while Kingdom Hearts uses the redesigned Mickey & co designs we've had for decades, and including Oswald might necessitate a redesign they might not ever use again? I dunno, just me speculating.

Or releasing "Empty Socks" which was found in Europe years ago, but I have no idea how to go see it. Nobody's leaked it to YouTube, and as far as I can tell it's only been screened at European film festivals. Tall Timber was found around the same time but is on YouTube and probably a high-quality version is on DVD somewhere.

Much as we'd love to see a "Mickey that never sold out", the very act of reviving him would, well, require him to sell out.

Devs were mega Disney fans and were constantly trying to make it better than it has any right to be. They brought on the Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed team to design a Kart Racing expansion to the game. Loaded it the fuck up with Disney vehicles from Darkwing Duck's Ratcatcher to TRON Lightcycles to the lead float of the Main Street Electrical Parade. Then they got Ninja Theory to come and redesign their combat system so 3.0 characters had real movesets, launchers, juggles and air combos. 3.0 also debuted Star Wars expansion campaigns so you had Star Wars story campaigns with Ninja Theory combat system to play with. That's on top of other shit like the Diablo-esque dungeon/task crawling mode, the Harvest Moon mode and the Sumo Digital kart racing mode. Plus they programmed a logic system that had a ridiculous amount of potential I've seen everything from a full scale recreation of Disneyland complete with ridable attractions to a recreation of the Slenderman game. They also allowed manipulation of camera angles and quests so you could create storylines and adventures for people to play through.

Fuck I miss that game

If I were to get the game again, is there any point getting 2.0 in addition to 3.0? Also, are you saying that every single character got updated movesets, not just the new ones? If so then that's crazy.

Unfortunately just the new ones. But certain items imbue 3.0 combat mechanics like a lightsaber for example. So give say Mike Wazowski a lightsaber and he can fight like 3.0 characters now. And na not really, all you miss out on is the playset campaigns of which 1.0 was Pixar and 2.0 was Marvel. The Star Wars ones are the only ones considered any good
