That kind of storytelling works when you're writing a book and just follow the flow, but it always ends with revisions and changes and detective work to smoke out potential inconsistencies and errors. To do that "on the go" just can't work. it can't, and we saw how badly.
>>112875425I'm not big on shipping of any sort and that's not my gripe with the show. To me it's all Star Butterfly, who shat on Mewni, multiple dimensions, her bloodline, magic - de facto EVERYTHING that made her world what it is. And she did so out of sheer idiocy and cocklust. The more I think about it the more angry I become, because this level of arrogance and hubris has been shown as a good thing.
I mean why is this a thing? Is it a hidden or unintentional redpill? Think about it. Korra, Star, Mabel - all these girls were fucking shit. They were disasters, complete disasters, to their worlds and the people around them. And they ended up that way seemingly accidentally, without planned efforts. If Star was a prince she'd be forced to abdicate at the very beginning for being so shit, or later on the nobles would assassinate her, or the whole damn Mewni would sink into civil war.
There's a difference from writing a flawed character, like say the amazingly real Reggie from Twelve Forever and having them fuck up. That's a plot, that's a story, that's character. We love the character but see her shortcomings. Nothing of the sort was true for Star or Korra, or Mabel.
