>>112870959I got a unique look at the matter in high school because I was in debate club, a given Jock can be very harsh to out group persons yet be a bro to everyone else. Its rather common.
At my high school the debate club was part of the in group, at least as far as the Jocks looked at the matter. We were part of tutoring support system for them. Namely the Football and Wrestling teams, with a case by case for Basketball and Baseball players. Why did we do that for them? Their couches gave support for our funding at the annual budget meetings.
So we were rather close to the Jocks. Invited to some (not all) of their parties and vice versa. They were very nice to us even when they did not personally need our help. But man the shit some of them did to the other "egg heads".

Very true. I got sucker punched in the back of the head by one of those A-holes when I was just walking down a hallway. He had pulled shit like that in the past and gotten off easy, but not that time. One of the football couches very pointedly and loudly demanded that the offender be punished. I heard from the nurses office. It was something like this...
> (my name) was attacked and I want to make sure the team is protected>...> I am asking you to do your worst >...> He is a valuable asset to the JY team >...> No he is not on the team, you are right about that but>...> Look, (my name) is the reason why I do not lose three players to academic probation> Glad we could reach this understanding Then the couch poked his head into the nurses office and told me that "I would not be seeing that boy again anytime soon."
