>>112909816Jesse McCree, the Cowboy dude, is a former bandit gang member who, after getting taken prisoner by Overwatch, is given the opportunity to abandon his old life of crime and join them in being the Knock-off Justice league or whatever due to his extremely proficient marksmen abilities. Being the youngest member, and practically still a kid at the time people headcanoned him as being the adopted child of the OG group.
Pharah, the little girl there, is the daughter of Ana, the woman with the under-eye tattoo giving McCree the stinkeye and one of the OG members of Overwatch, whi desperately wants to join the cool Not!superhero group that her mother is a part of, but which her mother Vehemently opposed. Pharah being a Military brat with idolization of Overwatch, would have been pretty interested in getting to know the people who make it up, especially the newest young hotshot who is only a couple years older than her, so they theoretically should jave had at least some familiarity with each other beforehand.
Now, was any of this ever explored or given more attention than a tiny couple sentences? Of course not, but everyone already knows that Blizzard’s writing strategy is to have the width of a lake and the depth of a puddle, so like everything with Overwatch’s story and Lore, people headcanoned the shit out it to make it somewhat good.
Then Blizzard, because they make more money from adding new characters rather than giving any depth to existing ones, added some new Robot chick and made her McCree’s designated Waifu.
