>>112825306>Why is Witch Hazel a sassy black woman?I think this one's pretty obvious. June Foray probably couldn't do the voice so well considering she was like 90-something and literally older than Granny in this show. BUT she was still voicing Granny.
So rather than hire a new VA to do the Witch Hazel voice and so essentially say "yeah we didn't think you could do the voice you originated in the OG Looney Tunes well enough anymore, sorry," they just made her "black" so they could give her a completely different sound and VA and so ideally just come off like they wanted to go in a new direction with the character. Though I actually heard someone who saw Foray speak at a convention (?) or something during the time of TLTS say she was annoyed she wasn't voicing that character too.
Other stuff isn't as obvious and I'm partially bullshitting, but I wanna take a shot:
>Why is Taz acting like a dog?To add to the sitcom domesticity vibe + because he's always been more of an animal than Bugs and Daffy anyway
>Why is Gossamer an insecure child?He acted sort of childlike/innocent in some shorts and I guess they thought that'd be a fresh take. Also could add to the sitcom vibe through establishing a relationship between him and Witch Hazel
>Why did they show off all those characters in the intro, many of which didn't appear even once in the entire show?To make the intro look more visually interesting by artificially padding it with randos + some of it may be remnants of the original Laff Riot show which may have intended to make more use of the wider cast
