>>112808748In making an event out of this, they've probably overestimated the number of readers who remember the old Iron Man 2020 and Machine Man 2020 stories, but those who do may enjoy a lot of homages to them.
It has some interesting ideas about AIs, how they've been mistreated in Marvel books, and how they could be mistreated IRL, and want equality with humans, but all filtered through Current Year identity politics that make it unenjoyable.
Arno Stark being the real son of Howard and Maria Stark, while Tony was adopted, yet just happens to look like Howard, be a genius like Howard and be an alcoholic like Howard, this all feels like a stupid mistake that every Iron Man writer has doubled down on, people are waiting for someone to undo it, but nobody ever does, and it doesn't look like Slott will be the one.
Marvel are making this into an event when it doesn't need to be, giving minis to Machine Man, Rescue, Ironheart, a robot Wolverine, and Force Works 2020 with only one of the original team returning, which seems to miss the point of reusing the name.
Since they are making it an event, and since he was in the previous Iron Man story, why no 2020 Vision mini? Marvel can't pass up on something so obvious.
