>Gave a shit about the source material
>Embraced the cartoony design and nature of the characters and didn't try to go for 'muh realism'
>The VFX actually still hold up almost 20 years later
>No wink and nudge "Wow folks, isn't this stupid?" to the audience, took itself seriously
>What few pop culture references there are work as jokes even without knowing what they're from
This is one of my go-to examples of a GOOD cartoon to live action adaptation
