>>112719059Meh, Transformers has probably been the single most consistent thing in my life, been a fan since the early 90s when I was just a wee lad watching old episodes of the original show and the movie and the movie and getting G2 figures as some of my first real action figures, and have followed just about every iteration ever since then
The movie to me....was what it was. I wasn't even mad, I mean I was unimpressed but it just was what it was to me, it was using the Transformers IP to make some "family oriented" action blockbuster. It wasn't really for me, a nerd who was obsessed with Transformers, it was for the casual movie going audience. I didn't hate it, didn't love it, and thought "wow would I have done that differently" but I would be lying if I said it didn't feel nice for Transformers to be more than some niche thing for once, like suddenly everybody knew about it again and I wasn't such a weirdo. It just became another piece of pop culture casual nerdiness like Spider-Man or X-Men, girls thought Bumblebee was cute, normie guys like the action and hot Megan fox.
