>>112713213>>112713656I don't see a reason not to treat the medium seriously. After all, it is a serious industry involving serious capital and (hopefully) serious development teams. And when due care is being exercised, these cartoons are perfectly capable of delivering a high level of narrative, artistic and educational qualities. In fact these properties are a subject of scrutiny by various parental and educational authorities, as well as regular viewers. That's quite a few people who care about the very subject.
Surely parentanons (yes, they exist) would want to know whether any given animation is worth showing to their kids. Others may be interested in the craftsmanship of a series - artstyle, animation techniques, music, voicework... Personally, I find it a shame that it took me this long to become interested in these myself. I believe I'd enjoy working as an illustrator if I had a shot at this.
