>>112601045no, all jokes aside empathy is like any other emotional state, it's hard to maintain
I mean look if you were angry, right, or happy? you wouldn't stay angry or happy for any length of time, you'd maybe re-experience that anger or happiness when you thought about the circumstances, but you wouldn't stay relentlessly happy for five days without some kind of chemical abuse thing going on
the ability to recognize empathy as something you're feeling pretty much rules out a lot of the neurological problems like say psychopathy so you're good I mean
probably you'd benefit from talking it through with a professional, because obviously it might be that this is a sign of depression, but maybe the situations you generally find yourself in where you're initially feeling empathy just aren't all that, you know, emotional?
basically if you're getting affective and cognitive empathy to any degree you're probably normal and should stop worrying about it
if you weren't getting somatic then I'd say worry but I'm pretty sure affective doesn't work without the architecture for somatic
you're normalish
it's kind of fine
don't really worry about it
I'm reasonably certain you could be OK
