>>112397844Sure, the show hasn't focused on what being independent means for MT yet. Realistically speaking she can't be a "free independent sliver" until the metal police stop chasing her but I'd appreciate it if we learned more about her actual interests. What happened to her love of banks?
I liked the couple being a background thing, it's cool that their families are constantly yelling while they're just quietly kissing. I totally get that not solving the feud is a part of Jesse's development but it feels undercooked. Maybe I've seen one too many of these "characters solve magical problem by getting along in an uninteresting way" type deals.
I probably looked too much into that, the show was probably just going for an OTGW reference or trying to raise the stakes there. I'm pretty sure the whole trains' a video game, but a magical video game that gave Tulip's reflection sentience and retroactively gave her a backstory. Frankly, with the amount of people entering and exiting the train I'm surprised there isn't more magical shit happening in the real world.
>>112398027Please understand anti-lore anon, most cartoons have been episodic comedies for a while now and creators want to get to do something different. Even the comedies you mentioned have some lore/continuity in them, certainly more than if they aired 20 years ago. Also, Madrid totally uploaded Clarence so up yours, Alice.
>>112398188The train never actively tries to solve people's problems, it just sort of traps people until they become desperate enough to figure their shit out. It'd be interesting if there were a character that didn't miss the real world and embraced the train's escapism
