>Start the comic with Orca in the postion she was at the end of Nightwing, taking her life one day at a time, struggling to reconnect with her fellow washed up D-Lister pals in the run-offs, more often than she should she comes off with an excuse to stay home or go out drinking rather than head to group
>Occasionally, she helps them with vigilante stuff when they dip into that, and she's glad to be useful for a good cause- but she has clear discomforts about being used for monstrous muscle, being appreciated as the Orca rather than as Grace Balin
>She has something she's working towards, though- a legit job working at Bludhaven's Marine Biological Laboratory, she has an in-person interview right around the corner, her role in saving Bludhaven from that mutant outbreak that one time got her some leeway and she DID have a promising record at and before she worked at Gotham Aquarium, so they're willing to give her a chance
>Naturally, in the days leading up to her interview, stresses keep piling up.
>She overhears some of her D-lister friends wondering, out of sincere concern, if she can handle a steady high-end job, which hurts her.
>She once again fails to convince a landlord to let her rent out an apartment, so she has to keep crashing at Mouse's place, putting her at risk of getting into shit with HER landlord.
>The Run-Offs dip more than usual into vigilante let's-go-help-out-the-nightwings shit where she has to exercise her mutant abilities more and more, earning her praise from her teammates that she's uncertain if she's happy with or ashamed of.
>She drinks more, sleeps less, eventually culminating in her inadvertently terrifying a child that reminds her of her nephew during a high-stress moment and lashing out at her friend group in turn, utterly wrecking herself the night before the interview.
>Naturally, she completely fucks it and makes herself look like a less-than-stable monster bomb.
