The point of justice isn't revenge or satisfy peoples desire to feel better about themselves, and usually it's people that didn't even have anything to do with the crime or event itself. The point of justice is to ensure that punishment is given as well as both deter and, ideally, ensure the person doesn't commit the crime again. It is also why rehabilitation is so important.
Both have already happened to him so... Why do something retarded and pointless just to satisfy selfish peoples feelings about an event that they never was even a part of?
Seriously, if punishment has been given, the person in question regrets and has changed for the better, what is the reason to keep punishing other than to satisfy your own selfish desires?
