I actually have more issues in the settings where he retires. Batman dies on the job, by some thug getting lucky or because he got old and slow, or because something beyond mortal was just too much to deal with. Beyond, and his heart condition, is the only circumstance I'll ever personally accept the goddam Batman giving up the crusade. Rises and Nolan can fuck themselves with a rusty spoon.
