Steven turns into worm monster until everyone tells him how much they love him in an underwhelming song. Steven leaves Beach City to stay with Connie because he’s a thirsty fuck. Maybe he goes and cures cancer with his gem powers.
Also Jasper and the villains go to Little Homeschool after a rushed redemption because they wasted half the season repeating the same things we knew instead of doing anything meaningful with the characters who needed development.

I don't see how the first two are problems and the last one is a guess at best. Lars and Sadie were terrible for each other, literally everyone complained about it during the original run.
