He's a jerk and a bully, but he has layers that make him sympathetic and entertaining. The show likes to explore his character and rivalry to the main heroes in fun ways, they fight as many times as they join forces. His fights with Ben are the only good matches in the entire show and most of his aliens look cool.
He's the only character in this entire reboot where it feels the people behind it put real effort in. So many characters in this show are so one-note and boring, but Kevin is the one character the show likes to explore. This reboot is mostly a soulless cash grab made to sell toys and that's it, but with his character, it genuinely starts to feel like a real show.
