>>112060610>>112060590Honestly, what was good about the ending?
DC promises of more mega events and reboots because they simple can't stop themselves?
DC bringing back the JSA and LoSH to easily bank on readers nostalgia, when it was DC itself that erased them from canon a few years ago? Because this feels like bullying and blackmail. They take the toys, and then try to appear nice by giving it back.
Watchmen setting being changed to include a Superman because everything has to be about Superman?
I don't know you guys, but i feel that DC is slowly getting smaller and smaller ove these decades. Back before CoIE the idea of the multiverse was created so DC could house all these wondrous and different characters they've acquired. Emphasis on different. DC didn't felt the need back then to add Superman in the Charlton Comics characters setting. Because Superman didn't need to be shoved in everything to remain relevant back then. So you could have an entire world just for the Charlton Comics characters. That was what the multiverse was about. To house the different creations their talent made.
Now everything is nothing but Superman, Batman, and the Justice League. Every comic, every Elseworlds, every fucking little thing. Just different variants of the same characters. And of course the stories are all about the characters. There's nothing else. The villains don't have imaginative goals anymore. There are no wild plots anymore. It's all about villains trying to break Superman, Batman, or the Justice League. Because DC doesn't know what else to do. Always the same characters, always the same plots, and always the same meta wanking to try to disguise the fact that they don't have any new ideas anymore so they pass this self-important meta-narrative to say that repeating the same shit over and over again is important and good.
