>>111863979This might not be related, but by a lot of metrics, younger people are having sex later in life, more and more are virgins well into their twenties, marriage rates are falling, and I rather believe that it's related to this whole "desexualization". It's not a bad thing to see someone else as a "sex object". We are a binary gendered species, so of course the opposite sex is going to be a sex object. That doesn't demean them as a person, or denigrate them at all. It just means we recognize others as sexual beings, nothing more or less. And by desexualizing fictional characters, and each other, we're desexualizing socialization. Which, we're already dropping below replacement numbers, so once those damn boomers die off, millenials might start to have a chance to scrape by a decent retirement from their ineheritence, if any, and zoomers get the cake and the icing leftover. Heaven help whatever comes next, though. If there's anything to come next.
