>>111774039There are two interpretations of what he said.
>None of this is cannon, but this is.>None of this is canon, but this is.Of course the first time you hear it you're meant to think he said canon, but that changes when the sentence concludes with "but this is". And that's the joke. You thought he broke the 4th wall explaining that the episode isn't canon, but that's not what he said.
However, you are proposing that the other interpretation, the initial one, is correct instead.
>None of this is canon, but this is.This sentence makes no sense at all.
The Lars and Sadie ship joke is obviously a continuation of the joke, but isn't evidence for whether or not the relationship between Lars and Sadie is canon or not, because he didn't say canon. All that happened is Uncle Grandpa used a cannon to shoot down a literal ship.
>>111774030A non canon episode wouldn't have a canon timeline location and continuity impact.
Please stop making stuff up. Political Power has nothing to do with any of this. Between Gem Glow and Jail Break, the only times the Shield is relevant are, in canonical order: Ocean Gem, where he briefly summons it, followed by Say Uncle, where he learns to summon it consistently, and The Return, where he knows he is able to summon it and he's confident that he can help Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.
Now, to be fair, you may have been thinking of The Return, which is in fact the only* scene where Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl are seen being surprised looking at his shield after Gem Glow. And why wouldn't they be? He's never summoned such a big shield before (which was visibly an enormous effort for him).
*I checked Ocean Gem to make sure. Pearl's reaction in that episode could be interpreted as surprise, which would still be fitting since it's the second time he summons it despite his inexperience. Garnet and Amethyst are not surprised.
