This made Ben a little crazy so he broke out and became the jackal, deciding to defeat death by cloning everyone. However most of the clones it was revealed had a flaw where they had to take a drug every day or two lest their bodies start coming apart, so after Jackal's defeat most of them just melted away.
Doc Ock "improved" the clone formula and was able to make himself a new body that has since been undone by Mephisto. In the current issue of Spider-man we find out that an assassin that Ben brought back has found a way to upload himself into new cloned bodies, suggesting that other countries now have the cloning technology.
