>>111737379I’ve read every issue so far and I’m enjoying them. None have been awful in my opinion but some are certainly better than others. Here is my ranking.
1. X-Men - Cyclops is my favourite X character and I like how each issue is a self contained story so far. I probably wouldn’t care about that if I was reading a trade paperback but when you’re reading issues weekly it’s nice to not have an awkward cliff hanger.
2. Marauders - The book is a lot of fun. I like the hellfire club and seeing Shaw and Emma try to screw each other over. I also really like Kitty and think her “fight scene” in the first issue was a great way to show off her powers.
3. X-Force - So far so good. I’ll admit it’s not my favourite group of mutants but the first two issues had enough twists to hold my attention. Feels like it’s just going to keep getting better.
4. Excalibur - This one is just fine but it features a lot of my favourite X-Men characters so I’m a bit more generous with it. Interested to see what’s going on with Apocalypse. Disappointed that Rogue was immediately taken out of action because I was looking forward to seeing her do something. Plus Gambits personality is now just “in grumpy because Rogue isn’t here”. Hopefully she wakes up soon.
5. New Mutants - I don’t love this one as much as everybody else. Might be because I’ve never read New Mutants before so I don’t really know who these characters are or why I should care and the book isn’t really doing a good job of showing me. It’s still fine though, I’ll keep reading it.
6. Fallen Angels - I agree with everybody else on this one. Great premise, poor execution. Hopefully it gets better soon or it will be the first one that I drop.
