It's still a pretty good show. Everything with Obake was kino. Way more enjoyable and sincere than Ducktales without relying on constant nostalgia references.

It went softer sci-fi. Antigravity, mass gaining, shapeshifting, and such. Doesn't have the same "neat tech from the not too distant future" look.

That's my main gripe about it. The humor, writing, continuity, voicework, and actual entertainment value is more than fine in my opinion.

I think the show is balancing it fine. They're introducing a good size of villains, but most of them have likable personalities or quirks that make them stand out. Globby became a favorite and I'm glad they redeemed him. The only ones I'm apathetic about are Mr. Sparkles and Yama.

Honestly it's underrated. In particular there's a lot of psychological themes and plain mindrape going on against Hiro. Not to mention actual action in 2019

I think BH6 TV show is okay, Baymax is still a likeable buddy, but the writing is playing pretty safe card, unlike Tangled pushing out of the boundary.

That's one of my main gripes as well. The movie established that this world is set twenty minutes into the future but the series plays very loose with technology. Although, without them going soft sci-fi we wouldn't have gotten Globby.

Disney is RICH enough that they easily could have made a Tangled TV show that uses a decent budget like Ladybug (which legitimately has decent hair rendering, probably the best for a fucking TV series).
