>>111527585>She probably does see through Viren's bullshit more than Soren, but willingly blinds herself.I wouldn't be so sure.
Soren is slightly older than Claudia isn't he? Regardless it seems like Viren was more up front with Soren. Claudia appears to have, mostly anyway, been allowed to do her thing. But Soren was going to lead, act, and do what was needed. Like Viren told Claudia that she was to claim the egg, even if she couldn't save Soren. But Soren was told to flat out kill the princes.
I do think Soren had the right idea when he said he is the person who knows Viren the best. Out of the people still alive anyway.
It doesn't seem like Claudia was ever pushed as far. She might have never seen as much of Viren's character and thus never seen that far past his facade.
I also think Claudia and Viren are more in tune with one another in general than Soren and Viren. Now I am not saying Claudia is an outright monster like Viren or that she is hopelessly evil or anything like that. But as a long time practitioner of dark magic Claudia has since long already been well attuned to the idea of sacrifice to attain goals. At the very least she appears to be much more attuned to that idea than Soren.
So when Viren goes all "We have to do X to achieve Y", it's likely less shocking to Claudia's ears than to Soren's, even if X was to be rather horrid.
