>>111412854No because that would be a sane, reasonable stance and would make the X-Men actually seem like a legitimate movement who are actually discriminated against.
Instead you have a group of genetic blips that at their best declared themselves the superior species while informing Homo Sapiens that they were on their way out and obsolete, and at their worst under *every other fucking leader and movement they've had* were openly racist terror squads and throwing out slurs.
If X-Men had any balls it'd come out and admit the reason people hate and fear them has nothing to do with what they are and everything to do with who they decide to follow and what they do. It'd take a powerful stance that violence and hatred in the name of self-superiority is wrong, and that being outnumbered doesn't justify it.
Mutants aren't even an actual *anything*. They aren't a species. Because that would imply they reliably and regularly pass down traits to their offspring, which just doesn't happen. They aren't a culture, there is no mutant culture, due to how they arise, and the attempts to "make" one are hilariously artificial and, to be blunt, fake ass shit like those fuckbois who shave their heads and insist on worshiping a made up Odin rip off.
You could do something with that, too. Take a strong stance, that just because someone *says* they speak for you, that you're all the same because they say so, doesn't mean you are. That you're an individual who doesn't know shit about any of those crazy motherfuckers still going to school in their 30s. What's a inner city latino gangbanger with the power to breath fire got in common with Cyclops's mutant nazi ass? Sure as fuck isn't the upbringing, the body condom, or the crew cut. What's Abdul who runs the grocery store in a town in the midwest got in common with Nightcrawler's bitch ass? Jack fucking shit.
But they won't do that because that takes balls.
