>>111328427>Wait so they have defined a vague but oddly specific definition of “toxic masculinity”toxic masculinity is masculinity thats bad for you
>but has their been discussions of toxic femininity?Yes. there's the bullshit with TERF's, there's the whole discourse about how "who is the man and who is the woman in the relationship" keeps manifesting through more obfuscated language while never having its root gender-essentialist roots be moved beyond. there's a whole bunch of stuff about how actual legit 100% butch lady characters practically don't exist when compared to the number of "butch, but secretly deep down is a huge femme just waiting to come out" characters there are,
there's heated critique of the whole "bisexual means liking every woman ever and (one specific skinny white rich dude )" meme
there's super intense friction between the "fuck gender, I wanna be a selfish bad bitch heart breaker like all men are" school of thought and the "if all men are gonna choose to be socipaths we owe it to ourselves to do better than that" and the "this whole boys vs girls conflict ultimately just serves to further the agenda of the corporations exploiting the entire working glass, man, woman, and everything else" camps
there's lashback against the whole "I'm not like other girls I laugh at jokes making fun of women and have zero women friends because thats just too much drama" camps and the "you have zero to be ashamed about from liking thinks like pink and frilly dresses and being a witch in the woods surrounded by songbirds and a bastard goat"
if anything my main point is there is no 'they' conglomerate. there's just humans, being born into different bodies and being raised with different expectations and experiences and we as a species are gonna need at least 300,000 more years of constant discussion about this shit before we invent a culture that's good for everyone
