In their cautious defense though, I guess it can be said there are those equally who aren't fans of comics and more just using any hot topic writer misbehaving at a convention, out of context panel or merely suggested idea of politically incorrect think as a soap box to virtue signal.
Both sides like to claim fence sitting is just a cop out from the argument or attempt by the other side to look less damning while arguing, but when you actually do fence sit it becomes obvious they really are both insane. I've seen both when pressed on how much they know or care about an industry eventually admit they don't and if it collapsed from their antics it would be necessary or deserved.
