Movie Raps is sheltered, naive, and frightened, but also smart, tough, and cheerful. She yearns and longs for more to see and do
Season 1 is that same person with 1 years worth of outside experience and education. She has infinitely more independence, but also knows that eventually she'll lose that independence. Raps is blind to all but the most obvious emotional cues and cannot spot liars or people hiding their feelings. She has great difficulty thinking about other's feelings.
Season 2 has been toughened by Varian, and she's filled with fatalistic determination. Finding the Dark Kingdom and her destiny is a much clearer goal to her than becoming a monarch when her parents die. She's more worldly, but still selfish and naive about how those closest to her feel.
Season 3 is almost totally hardened by Cassandra's betrayal. Her smugness is a veneer of confidence, hiding how gutted she was by what Cass did. She dives into the role of monarch because running the world is easier for her than confronting what happened. It's like Gothel all over again. Someone she trusted absolutely betrayed her trust and threw years of love and friendship back in her face as being not good enough. She also feels the loss of the Moonstone, as it represented the end of her journey and the beginning of something new. This is Raps at her most empathetic. She's learned the hard way that she has to look for signs of discontent before they explode.
