>>111168046>Is the hate overblown or does it really get that bad?The hate is partially overblown, but the hate also exists for a good reason.
>obvious spoiler warningThis show shits on a lot of the pre-established lore from The Last Airbender.
The two things that I remember bothering me the most about it is how much of a Mary Sue Korra is, in the first episode they show that she could already bend water, earth and fire when she was like what, a toddler? That's some fresh bullshit right there.
Remember how in TLA they made it clear that Aang and all of the avatars that came before him had to travel the world to learn the bending disciplines?... yeah fuck that, our character is so cool she can just do it by willing it.
>I'm the Avatar, you gotta deal with it!Give me a break.
The second thing that really bothered me is the romantic relationships in this show. More specifically, the out of nowhere relationship between Korra and Asami.
They spend the first two seasons barely interacting with eachother, while taking turns fucking with Mako on the side, then season 3 rolls around and they are suddenly the best of friends? Hanging out, talking as if they've been close for so long... like wtf?!
It's one thing if they established this from the beginning and it naturally progressed, but no, they just... pull it out their ass.... bleh.
All of this eventually leads to not so subtly, but also not directly showing that they have gone full lesbo for eachother... okay.
You'll probably enjoy this show most of the time, but it's low points can really piss you off, so prepare yourself.
