>>111145382>Is that just some noncriticism that people threw at the movies or do people genuinely have this problemI genuinely feel like that's the case.
In the first movie, I never had trouble telling who's who. All the designs were distinct and clear, color schemes never repeated within the same body type.
In movie 2 and 3 there was the problem that some characters literally had re-used models, but they were still recognizable in all the important small fight scenes. You couldn't tell them apart in the ten-on-ten scenes, but you would likely have the same problem with humans.
I don't recall whether it was the case in movie 4, and I never saw 5.
However, I also really don't like the designs of 4 and 5. And to a degree, 3. It's probably just a personal thing of mine, but I really disliked just how humanoid the faces have gotten. In the first movie, granted, Optimus' face was entirely unnecessary, and he should have just had his faceplate up, but even when it was down, he was still very clearly a human-shaped robot. In later movies, they all looked like humans with metallic facepaint, and I'm quite sure it was so they can save up on animation by using motion capture.
