The latest volume of Asterix starring the daughter of Vercingetorix came out last week it will undoubtedly be one of the highest-selling comings this year worldwide. Who else has read it? What did you think?

It's okay-ish.
Not as bad as some of the more recent ones, but definitiely nowhere near the original stuff.
Art is a little better than in Chariot Race.
Story is just kinda there and the political stuff is clumsy but nowhere near as bad as in Missing Scroll.

Not worth buying but maybe check it out at your library.

You should give it a shot. They had a rule where they kept the jokes per page the same as the French volume, so if one was not translatable, they invited another

story is redundant with the viking album and the "asterix son" album and they made a feminist story with the "la rose et le glaive", even if it's topical, they surely took a really lazy take on the current political climate.

It's kind of similar to the Viking album, but the that one teenage boy and the teenage girl in this story have different personalities and character arcs. Asterix and Son was a very different kind of story, since the kid was a baby.

It was a "feminist" story written by an out of touch old man. It wasn't really feminist at all, if anything the feminist bard in the story was more of an antagonist who had to learn to not be so feminist.

It talked about the issue with proper tact. Feminism is divisive and aggressive, the album made it so people can be happy together without suddenly become raging lunatics.

No it didn't; it relied almost entirely on stereotypes because the writer was not familiar with the subject.

No it portrayed a real live politician and feminist as an abrasive, troublemaker riling up everyone's wifes by giving them ideas and only coming around when she is rejected by the hot girls in the Roman camp, who in turn are defeated by clothes shopping.
