>>110953884Megatokyo was one of the first really popular webcomics, and I think the very first popular webcomic to be story-based. Most other webcomics were stick figures or crude approximations of newspaper strips, so Megatokyo stood out for being anime-influenced at a time when no one else does, and for having incredible art.
....Incredible art by 2001 webcomic standards, anyway, obviously it's pretty bad compared to nowadays when every art student in America has a comic, but look these characters have actual hands.
It's a VERY early-2000s comic, and even the "good" parts are unreadable. After a while, one of the two creators left, and it became even more anime. A lot of people say Megatokyo got worse after Largo left, and it's not that that's WRONG, exactly, but it's really more that other webcomics got better as we aged out of thinking pic related was funny.
Also Piro is rather famously lazy, and the comic didn't have a cast page for fifteen years, even as Piro was making it full time. Clicking the cast page just said "i'll finish this page when i feel like it" in all lowercase throughout the entire Bush administration.
