This is pretty common in smaller high schools. Everyone in my high school knew Vince and Cassandra.

Well defined cliques were also pretty common up into the early-mid 90's, but they definitely weren't the sekrit clubs you see in media as much as a group of kids that dressed similarly and had similar taste in music.

I don't think Yellow Temperance had anything resembling that. The stand was directly controlled by Rubber Soul and didn't have a will of it's own as far as i remember, so if they killed him nothing would have happened.
Same with Lovers. Steely Dan controlled it. It's ability was just that it would make the pain Steely Dan took, get inflicted on the guy that had Lovers enter their brain. When Jotaro was giving him mercy, he already knew Lovers was out of Josephs body because Steely Dan tried to enter Jotaros body, but Star Platinum caught it before it entered.

Why not just make humans great merchants/diplomats/strategists/workers? Shit humans today already excel at. You don't need to give humans special powers to make them relevant in a fantasy setting, we're already super intelligent, strong and capable of erecting societal structures to make up for our individual weaknesses. Being human and unironically living in a society is all the super power humans should need to strive, even when opposed to/living alongside with magical/alien species

Nah that's boring, go the other way around, humans are walking biochemical nukes carrying tons of Earth diseases we've long since become immune to but are devastatingly deadly to every alien races. Basically just expand on War of the World by turning humanity into galactic biochemical threats.
