The new status quo lost its novelty like four isdues in when it was clear Hivkman is more into just telling you than showing you anything, and then the timeline fuckery just made the entire book feel pointless, when the end game is heavily emphasized to now be thousands of years into the future, i.e. it doesn't matter at all.
