At the time of Superior Spiderman, I think that there was basically fuck all psychics left in the X-Men. Emma was Diamond Form only, no psionics, Cable hadn't been in this timeline for a while, Professor X was dead and Jean had been dead for almost a decade by that point. That leaves what? Betsy?

Fuck, it's literally how Jonah Jameson met his second wife as well. They bonded over a mutual desire to build death robots literally called Spider Slayers, and NOBODY in the office of the Bugle even lifted an eyebrow.
I mean, did he even get ANY blowback, like REAL blowback, from creating the Scorpion? Taking a random PI you hired, not do any kind of background checks, and just straight up genetic enhance him and give him a robot murder suit?

Not neccessarily, one of the big points of that original Straczynski run was that it wasn't just the Spider, but ALSO the radiation. If it was gamma it would explain how he's able to fucking benchpress a Subway carriage, or in one case an entire collapsing apartment block.
Honestly, I've always had a theory that it WAS Gamma radiation, and in reality Spidey's strength is really only limited by how strong he THINKS he should be. But it's Peter Parker and only very rarely does his poor self-esteem let him beleive he's as strong as he could be.

Have we ever seen a Spiderman STRONGER than Spidey? Early Cain maybe? But it's hard to get a read there because Pete's powers were on the fritz and Ben Reily was in the drivers seat for most of that. We've seen Spiderpeople with better ABILITIES than Pete. Hell ALL of them aside from Ben had better ability sets than Peter; from organic bio-armour, precognition, wall adhesion sufficient to tear down whole buildings, organic webshooters to the collossal mary-sue package that Miles has.
But I don't think we've ever seen a straight up non-symbiote enhanced spider-person stronger than Pete.

I hope the take the "magic totem" explanation and bury it in the biggest, deepest sinkhole they can find because magic should NEVER come into a spiderman story.

Spiderman's villains and stories should revolve around science and the use/misuse of it, keep magic for dr strange and other heroes.

The dirty secret is that story was originally intended for Marvel's cat month prior to the release of Captain Marvel. While I certainly don't approve of everything written by Kevin Smith in Spider-Man/Black Cat, it illustrates the importance of Peter Parker to Felicia. He was the first man she learned to love and trust whole-heartedly after being sexually assaulted. I don't know of a character in Marvel Comics who has been portrayed more inconsistently and poorly than Black Cat in recent history.

I doubt Quesada is lying because this is from the mouths of Spencer and Lowe before Marvel's "Fresh Start." Black Cat is one of Spencer's favorite characters to write. He did his best resolve a lot of the issues with her in seven issues, but this awful Black Cat series basically hit reset on her again.

Naaaah. Felicia hasn't been anything remotely interesting or even important in Spider-Man since the 80s. The problem with Felicia Hardy is she doesn't fit that well into Spider-Man's world and when on her own, all she gets are unmemorable stories and bad writing from people who also don't get the point of the character or have any idea where to take her. Her current solo characterization is pretty shallow and bad too.

Mary Jane actually serves as a narrative bridge between the two identities and through her we see the Peter/Spidey as a full person. She functions as a supporting role and love interest really well. Her character development and arc complemented and paralleled Peter's as opposed to any of his love interests ever did. MJ has been treated like shit and written atrociously but to argue she is one-dimensional is just plain uneducated and stupid lol she already had more complexity in her pinky before and even after Felicia even debuted

There's no point in arguing with fans and supporters of MJ. This is fiction. What is best for the character is what is most compelling to the reader and audience at large. No other love interest will ever be able to supplant this ideal characterization you all have of Mary Jane. The reason I argue on behalf of Felicia is because she is flawed and complex character who is both familiar to fans and rising in popularity. Besides, there are countless Peter/MJ love stories in every imaginable medium—I want something new, yet familiar.

I don't even care about stupid shipping but I'm not a biased delusional dumbfuck who refuses to be objective about MJ's history and place in Spider-Man comics. You called her a one-dimensional and useless supporting character - which pretty much shows you know nothing about the her and much less about Spider-Man comics' overall thematic narrative and importance of his civilian cast. Honestly, most fans of Felicia would be content with just a single AU or limited series where her and Peter end up together. Specifically a story that doesn't end abruptly in tragedy like Spider-Man Noir (still a good two series) and ASM What If… It's not like it wouldn't sell so Marvel doesn't really have an excuse not to try.
