>>110435670To further expand on my previous post, here's a few situations that I like to use ellipses in.
1. When you want to imply something without saying it, or omit certain information. I'm finding it hard to explain, so read the examples.
Example: "Most humans would find it morally reprehensible to blow up an orphanage. Irkens, on the other hand..."
2. When you want to convey someone stumbling over dialogue, or otherwise finding it hard to find their own words.
Example: "Zim did you... I mean... Why the hell did you do that?"
3. When you want to convey silence from a character without bloating the story with a bunch of "x said nothing" or "x was silent"
Example: "Zim," Dib said cautiously. "Why are you wearing a wedding gown?"
"..."
"Whatever," Dib said, rolling his eyes.
Just a few examples. I could think of more if I wasn't so goddamn sick right now.
