>>110369362CN died a couple times. By 2004 a lot of quality shows like Samurai Jack and Courage ended leaving a void for a couple years, causing the first death. around 07 things started looking up with the premiere of chowder and later flapjack, but then in a mad attempt to copy the success of live action shows on dsney/nick CN Real came out and threatened a new apocalypse. Some might say the network died again then. But then that darkness ended and Adventure Time premiered in 2010, showing lots of potential and spurring any more shows of varying quality to come out. I would argue there hasn't been a true death of the network since then, but it did start a trend of pushing more towards lore/plot based shows which started to fumble as it turns out few cartoon writers had the shops to really keep that format strong. Now CN has a decent host of shows, but cable TV in general is dying and you can see them scrambling to find a target demographic that still watches TV. They'll likely fail and we'll see a third and final death of the network.
So yeah, CN did actually die in 2004, but it got better, as it has before and as it has after. Seems like it might die again, but unless they figure out a better business model they might not get better this time
