>>110125725S1 was alright, S2 lost the plot, it almost feels like they didn't want to make Castlevania.
1 was this tight
Prelude to a simple story of 3 dumbasses going on a quest to kill a vampire.
For some reason they decided to amp up the episode count but dedicate most of the runtime to a Game of Thrones-esque Vampire Court drama but only 1 character is interesting, the backstabbing and plotting is boring, and the people fighting for power are just simple one-note characters.
There is nothing really interesting about the Hector/Carmilla/Isaac plot, it's just sorta pretend storytelling where you can tell the guys writing it just wanted to make GOT. It's even structured like a GOT season, "surprise deaths" before the credits hit and all.
The show finds life when it returns to the big 3, the main cast is filled with chemistry and fun character interactions, but they stil lack basic character development in preparation for the finale.
When Castlevania 3 finally starts not only are we already tired but it's not that fulfilling, all the stuff the season builds up in the castle doesn't really return for the fight. I mean, it's fun and there's some good moments, but it's not where everything comes together.
Overral it just feels like a massive waste of time where the people creating it got too ambitious and just weren't talented enough to back that up.
I mean how do you fuck up "3 dumbfucks go on a medieval gothic roadtrip to kill a vampire in a big fuckoff castle"? Genuinely boggles my mind.
Also they played a really weak version of bloody tears on fucking Castlevania 3. It's a theme associated to Simon and they just fucking put it there for le ebin moment. There's no Prelude, no Beginning, no Prayer when they're rising and see the castle, no Aquarius, no Clockwork, but fucking BLOODY TEARS is there. Fucking hell.
They didn't even play Duane and Brando's Castlevania 3 for the credits, I mean, what the fuck were they thinking?
