>>110079580See, this is why HM's bullshit kinda makes sense. In a magic-less setting, his quest would be obviously delusional and impossible. But in this setting, where magic is almost common and so simple that 14-year-olds are regularly entrusted with it by the highest powers in the universe, it's almost reasonable. He's like a communist who goes, "hey, the landlords have food and we don't", so he decides to kill the landlords and take it, ignoring the societal problems that will cause later down the line. HM just wants to make magic benefit everybody, instead of the chosen few...despite his akumas- and entirely malicious bullying of Nooroo- being close proof that not everybody can be trusted with magic. He's not even the only Miraculous wielder to be selfish (see Marinette in "Bubbler" and "Volpina") and he DID promise to cherish his wife beyond everything else.
He's a good villain. Relatable enough to be hilarious, but dumb and cruel enough that we don't forget who we should be rooting for.
