As a comic purist I absolutely loathe the fact that Phantom Blot is somehow supposed to be a Ducktales character. He is and always should be Mickey villain, keep him out of my Duck cartoons.

Huey is the best triplet because he is the most like his uncle. He's good boy of the year, best woodchuck scout but isn't afraid to beat the shit out of someone for being a dipshit

Louey is ok, he can be a bit of a bitch but he is slowing learning something. He is the most like scrooge which means he has potential of becoming a monster.

Dewy is the worst. Hope he is shipped with Webby so they can be annoying together, Ruined DW's film.

Webby is a better Junior Woodchuck than Huey, even has earned a higher rank than him, and is also shown to be smarter and more responsible than he is.

Webby is a better adventurer than Dewey, shown to be braver than he is and far more competent in the field.

Webby is a better schemer than Louie, shown that she's better with people, more likeable, better at intimidating others, and is capable of coming up with plans and strategies that actually work (hence why she's the leader of the group).

Webby is better than all of the Nephews at every trait that makes them unique/special. Webby is the best character.

You fell for the "Webby has to learn how to be social" meme arc from season 1, I see. Throughout season 1, every "Nephew teaches Webby how to do THING" episode was themed with the Nephew teaching her the wrong lesson, Webby messing up because she listened to the Nephew, then Webby does it the way she wanted to do it all along, which was the right way, then the Nephew apologizes to Webby that he mislead her and that she was right all along, the end.

Webby didn't actually learn anything about socializing in season 1. She knew the right way to do things from the getgo of each story. It was the Nephews who tried to give her the wrong lessons who had to learn how to socialize. Webby did not grow or change throughout season 1, the episodes just gave her the illusion of that arc.

OG DuckTales Blot had a fucking MOUTH, man. Such details mean nothing. The only time anyone at Disney ever drew a line with the characterization of Phantom Blot was in Epic Mickey, where the studio wanted to make him a mindless ink monster and Disney actually put their foot down on that.

Not really, no. All of those are either random chance, events that could have still happened without Donald’s involvement, or solutions to a situation that could have been avoided by Donald being present in the first place. Even Gabby got to actually try and help through her acions rather than just plot contrivance. Eh, it was defineitly better than the first season, but it feels more like that was due to luck than them actually fixing any of the problems that were present in the first season. It was pretty fun overall, but not enough to make me not skeptical about the third season.

So let’s try and quantify the amount of screen time they get in a simple manner, with a B plot being worth 2 C plots, and An A plot being worth 2 B plots.

That Means that in Season 1, Webby had 11 A-plots, 3 B-plots, and 2 C-plots, so52 “points” of screentime, second most screentime of all acharacters in the first season.
In Season 2 she had 2 A-plots, 8 B-plots, and 2 C-plots, resulting in 34 ”points”.
Now that’s definetly a reduction, but definitely not 75%. Hell it’s not even a 50% reduction in her ludicrous screentime

Thing is, after Gravity Falls, Disney's gameplan has been "A MABEL IN EVERYTHING!" So we got Mabel Vs. the Forces of Evil, Mabelphibia, and MabelTales. So long as Disney execs are still on their MabelMabelMabel kick, we're never gonna get a reasonable balance between Webby and Everybody Else.

More than that, she got injected into the Della Duck subplot in a way that excluded Huey and Louie... two of Della's kids. She got forced into an arc and made it about herself, an arc about a mother and her sons, an arc that by no means should have ever been about Webby.

And that was after she already had TWO arcs all to herself that season (Webby socializing, Webby/Lena/Magica hijinks). The writers REALLY didn't need to make the Della Duck arc about Webby, too. But they did.

Not really, the first Della episode was all about interacting only with the triplets with Webby , then we got an episode of Della with Dewey, then an B plot about Della and Huey and finally we got two episodes of Louie and Della that culminated with the song in the finale.

The Webby and Della stuff was just relegated to the ending of a Webby episode after Della spends the entire B plot with Launchpad instead.

Seriously thoughC that Monologue about why Donald was angry was the worst case of telling and not showing that I’ve seen yet. It’s not that it was untrue, but it was just so on the nose and unnecessary when they’re putting it over a scene that clearly demonstrated that same message.

I think the real problem was taking the triplets and Donald for granted. They already assumed that the audiences buy the relationships between each other just by being brothers and nephews while they felt the need of making separate Webby bonding episode for each triplet and for Scrooge. Honestly i feel like she kind of detrimented that idea. Donald was unfairly a dick to the other a lot of times because he was salty about Daisy and taking out his frustration on them, but whenever he was with Daisy, she always came out worse and he ended up looking like the victim. If they wanted to hammer in that it was Donald who had a problem, they would have done better just showing how his anger affected those around him.

The drama sucks ass, but the comedy is pretty good. There´s a lot of good concepts for episodic adventures, but it fails at making good season-long story arcs. It has its up and downs.

He doesn't want to be angry towards others nor shit on them. It just is the side affect of someone who in the end is good hearted but is depressed due to how down on his luck he is. And in many ways the people around him can take the slight abuse because they realize this and realize the person he truly is. Which he is getting to towards the end.
Daisy shows why he is the way he is, and while of course it would have been better without her (it quite literally is the only flaw in the whole show) it is something that can be looked at in a positive light

To add to this, it's not like the show presents Daisy's action as good either
She's clearly shown in the wrong for the Dapper Duck stunt, many of the characters show disgust in her actions. But she has the same issues and depression Donald has, and her desperation for Donald could come off as seeing in him what she sees in herself. It comes a point where it's shown they really can only get through their issues by doing it together. A lot of it is a psychological look into Donald and why he's why he is, and I think it's more thought out then anything in DT so far
Ducktales might make the more enjoyable Daisy, sure, but nowhere near the more impactful

Yes, that’s exactly my point. All of those were all great demonstrations of the negative effects of his anger. But when you put him and Daisy together, his frustrations came out looking justified because how could you expect a man to keep calm when having to put up with that kind of treatment?

He’s annoying, his jokes are unfunny, and his constant penchant for ruining things and loudly interjecting is grating beyond words, and his skill is that he has no skills and ever situation hw either dumb lucks his way through or relies on the enemy being more retarded than him. I didn't see it as trying to show that Donald being angry is good, but that he isn't a evil character for his outbursts. He is a good person overall and the other guys in the cabana realized this, he's just lashing out at the world that shits on him every moment he can. The point was Donald had an anger problem and it, meaning himself and not Daisy or situations, was at fault. Daisy shouldn't stick around with a guy who's first reaction is to punch holes in the furniture or hurt people around him. That he can't hold down a job either because of his rage is another reason why Daisy was right in telling him to sort his shit out instead of bumming around a shack. His anger's not helpful on adventures in saving the world either when it always puts strain on his friends. As a sidenote he probably scared the fuck of Daisy's nieces when he trashed the resturaunt and probably would've sunk his chances had they told her. Destructive behavior like that isn't justfied even in a cartoon and the show went out of its way to show this.
