I don't understand why anyone would want this ship to be canon in the show, and I hope they don't actually push it.

Wouldn't it be weird that Pearl is so obsessed with Rose, she has to go after her boyfriend like sloppy seconds? It's bad enough that we have the implication Pearl never stopped being a slave to Rose even after being free, it would be awkward writing to have her lust after Rose's one true love, too.
