It could frequently be handled better, and if Marvel wasn't in its own dumpster at the moment someone might have been able to capitalize on the show coming out and Bendis leaving to actually give him something good again, but I like the idea that Cage has moved up in the world. He's gone from from an ex-con framed for shit and always struggling to keep his head above to water to a guy who has a family and friends and the respect of the people around him, both high and low. It's the kind of character progression you only really get with the C-Tier characters who don't have editorial weighing them down. Something similar, but more extreme happened with Screaming Mimi/Songbird.
