>>109495118>Avatar: The Last Airbender's ending?I felt like it was mostly weak. I kinda liked Sokka, Toph, & Suki vs the Fire Nation blimps, and I really loved the agni-kai between Zuko and Azula
however, all of this falls flat with everything else that happened. Katara getting the win over Azula in Zuko's place felt like he was robbed. It would be like in LotR when they finally got to the top of the mountain, if Sam just took the ring and threw it himself as soon as Frodo decided to keep it
likewise, I'm eternally pissed off that they built this day up like it was going to lead to everyone getting the most epic fight of their lives, and yet everyone in the white lotus gets to fight except for Iroh. they spent all that time building him up not only as one of the few people who could potentially beat Ozai, but him getting back in shape felt like it was going to lead to him delivering the ass-beating of a lifetime, yet all he does is make them a door and burn a flag
>More specifically, the way Ozai was defeated.this was probably just the last in a long line of disappointments. the entire series was building up to this, but the fight felt very lame. it wasn't even that much of a fight, considering it's half just Ozai chasing Aang around and half Aang chasing Ozai. I guess the Zuko/Azula fight kinda spoiled this because there was so much emotion and build up to that fight, but this one really felt lacking. that's not even bringing up how it pulled the way he won completely out of his ass
>Was it fair to spare his life?arguably yes and no. in a better writer's hands, I can see this being done well, but in this it just felt like Aang only won because he was the main character rather than winning because of the journey he made
