Actually OP all Marvel has done in light of Olivia's popularity is give Lady Octopus a makeover. Which honestly that's fine. It's a better look, and they don't need to needlessly force Olivia into canon

I can't really remember the exact details but yes? She was a supervillain groupie named Francine Frye who liked Electro, and obtained his powers when he "died". Max is currently living inside her, lying low. They'd make a great Bonnie and Clyde couple
