It would've been so much better if they were merely complicit, I thought. Like, generally doing good, but willing to look the other way when a lawmaker called a hit on an opponent because he passed a law they liked, or showing up just a liiiiittle bit too late to a critical journalist's housefire. Smaller, subtler things, instead of straight-up rape and murder.
It honestly would've been far more engaging for me if they were legitimately trying to do good, but were to out of touch to be effective, as opposed to "I can punch you in half, fuck your rules"
