i say 'currently' because a school of thought suggests that autism - particularly aspergers - could be more prevalent in females however, because of the way Aspergers effects woman it goes unrecognized therefore under diagnosed.
woman with aspergers tend to have a more masculinised brain - meaning whilst they are not 100% socially inept they have the social needs of a male. Normal woman generally have greater social needs and are better at keeping social peace (being doormats).
As woman with aspergers have obsessions they tend to specialise, ie fashion, cats, economics, science, etc whilst being as socially capable as an average man, whilst lacking the weakness of a doormat woman (keeping the social peace). this gives them an advantage over aspie men, who, have high IQs but are socially retarded. This advantage in academia and the work place, whilst also being 'different from the other girls', and possibly having a past of being bullied by normie girls, all fuels narcissistic behavior. Many aspie girls develop narcissism.
