Of course having those kinds of thoughts would be taboo in those communities. Why wouldnt it be? If conservatives would stop sniffing their own farts and hating people for being different they could completely neuter the liberals, but because they're so focusing on "owning the libs" by being as big as assholes they can, they'll never gain acceptance in those communities. Using phrases like "Democrat plantation" while trying to disenfranchise black voters, being openly racist to them, calling the first black president a kenyan? Shit like that is how you lose a generation of potential voters to keep dying old bitter white men who cannot get over themselves enough to see the potential.
If the conservatives in this country wanted to govern conservatively instead of selling out to the highest bidder they'd stop being such fucking crybabies about brown people, gays, and muslims, and see the natural allies they have in them politically. The Right is far, far more inundated with Identity Politics than the left is by accusing anyone who brings up anything based on race as a "Race Baiter" and screaming like children for not wanting to have to be equal to darkies.
If the Conservatives ever realized this, they'd control American politics for the next 50 years, but they wont, because by their very nature conservatives are traditional and stuck in the past. they are perpetually fighting a losing war and instead of focusing on tempering progress with wisdom and forethought, they've turned into full on shit flinging nazi collaborators, and luddite regressives.
Conservatism is dying in America, when it really shouldnt be, because the people in power, who will be dead in 15 years, sold it out to the worst possible people for short term gain.
