>>108767553>The whole meme is to mock ridiculous comic book art of female characters in unnatural poses and stupid costumes.A lot of it is just nit-picky shit. almost anything that is a struck dynamic pose is deemed misogynist and unrealistic. Even when the dynamic "sexy" poses tell the story much better than any alternative that is given. OP's is a great example.
The redrawn pose has MJ slouched over and her gaze is very indiscriminate, she looks tired or fed up more than anything. Maybe she just needs a nap. Where as the original pose tells us its message concisely. MJ's gaze is directly aimed at Spider-man on the 2d plane of the page, she has a concerned expression. Her whole torso is thrust out because of how high-strung her worry has made her. Even her legs are moved away from another, giving more tension to her a more active gesture and creating a rhythm. MJ's original pose you could call ditzy or stereotypical or whatever, but there's still a point to it, she's bearing her heart on her sleeve.
The redrawn doesn't have that kind of emotional relation going on. It seems all the redraw artist cared about was making sure the figure and pose captured their idea of realism, no concern for a direct, concise story.
With that said, could an artist have drawn an MJ that wasn't as sexy or have her boobs pressed together and retain the overall message? Yeah I think so. But these tumblr types seem too quick to throw the baby out with the bath water because they selectively think "not your average mundane person=not realistic=sexist/misogynist/ridiculous."
