I genuinely have no fucking clue, but their disdain for Finn became more and more apparent as the series went on.

Finn could've blatantly see the tyrant and absolute horrible person Bubblegum was but I guess the writers just loved her too much to do anything about her. Finn confronting Bubblegum about how ethical everything was could've been interesting but they just kept him as this naive kid no matter how many times he's developed through out the show (if anything)
