They're going to introduce Miles in the third movie and have him get spider-powers for some reason, and then Peter either dies for real or fakes his death after fighting Mr. Sinister's Insidious Six, allowing Miles to take up the Spider-Mantle and creating parity with Into The Spider-Verse. This then leads to a live-action Spider-Gwen movie, after which we get a live-action Spider-Verse movie.
